Hi honey,
We are now in St. Ignace, came over on this ferry. 80 cars on it. Very windy. On our way to Saint Ignace Marie. Hope all is well with you.
Love, mom and dad.

I was able to find a census report for 1930, 1940, that mention JoAnne, but when we get to 1950, she disappears and a son has shown up. As per usual, my brain went to the worst possible scenario and I thought that JoAnne might be dead. I did not stop to consider that JoAnne might have married and moved out prior to the 1950 census being taken. I also found JoAnne’s father’s obituary which confirmed that she was alive.

The postcard itself is super pretty and has held up really well. The colors are vibrant and the pencil on the back is not faded at all.

I was trying to get a better idea of how big the ferry is and the closest thing I could think of for comparison was the ferry that I took from Wales to Ireland which could hold over 10x as many cars.
