This was the first article that hit a little close to home. I had just started exploring Newspapers.com to see what I could find and happened to stumble across this one. I was a little surprised that I had never been told this before.

It’s not every day that someone pretty close to you went to jail for manslaughter, or got accused of it, anyway. Unfortunately, alcohol had a strong hold on many of my ancestors.
