Research Databases
I actually already have a page on this blog detailing some of the different databases I use. Check there for more. If you click on the logos below, it should take you to the website.
Ancestry is the biggest one for me. This is were I do the majority of my tree building. I don’t know exactly how long I’ve been working on digital family trees, but I can say that I was around when Ancestry was still relatively unknown.

When I’m doing the Postcard Project, I spend a lot of time looking at old Newspapers. This helps me make sure I have the right person(s) by comparing news articles to census reports to see if I can find anything that fits together. It also allows a name to come to life a little bit because you can get a glimpse into what their life was like.

Finally, I spend a lot of time perusing the National Genealogical Society website. Most of the time I’m either looking at the classes that they offer and their master calendar of events and webinars. There are countless classes and webinars a day.

It doesn’t matter which database you use, they all have their pros and cons. These are just the three that I look at daily.
