Research goal
I don’t necessarily have very lofty research goals, but finding out where my dad’s side of the family is the most important one for me. My dad passed away almost 2 years ago now, so I am the last one in my branch of the family tree to be a Misemer. After me, there will be no more. I don’t have anyone to carry the Misemer torch after I’m gone to continue to build off of what I started. My goal is to find out, verify, and document as much as I can. This will likely end up taking me to Missouri to be able to view records in-person and hopefully some that aren’t available digitally. I know I’m missing a key piece, I just don’t know what it is.
My other goal is just to help people. This is something I enjoy. It’s something that I can say that I’m good at and actually believe it (imposter syndrome is a bitch). I want to be able to help others get to know their ancestors before them and create a story, a narrative and maybe someday find a career in forensic genealogy.
I have broad goals but they are goals that are important to me.
